Meet the Lanigan Management Team


 

 Bernard Lanigan, Jr. CPA

Bernard Lanigan, Jr. CPA
Principal


Mr. Lanigan is a graduate of Furman University and serves as Founder and Managing Director of Lanigan & Associates, P.C. and also serves as Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder of Southeast Asset Advisors, Inc., with over $1 billion under management and consulting assets. He is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Cooper, Lanigan & Bryant, LLC, a boutique investment banking firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions and strategic alternatives and President and CEO of various commercial real estate operations and timberland holding companies. Mr. Lanigan has served as advisor and chief negotiator, valuation, financial and tax expert in numerous mergers and acquisitions and authored acquisition strategy of private companies. He has developed numerous proprietary models to use in Value Enhancement engagements and M&A engagements.

Mr. Lanigan is a very active community leader and enjoys reading and studying with a special interest in “Business Models,” studying “MOATS” and “Sustainable Competitive Advantage” and Complex Adaptive Systems and Behavioral Finance. He enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family.

 

 Frank J. Mercer, CPA, CFP

Experience

Mr. Mercer is the Managing Principal of Lanigan & Associates and has thirty-one years experience in the field of accounting. He started his career with a large South Florida Local Firm that was merged with a Big Eight and has spent the last 28 years of his career with Lanigan & Associates P.C. His primary tax practice areas include estate planning and high wealth individuals. His financial audit areas include Not-for-Profit and Governmental Entities in accordance with Government Auditing Standards, OMB Circular A-133, and other state and federal guidelines.

He has authored several articles on tax and is a frequent lecturer on tax, finance and investments. He also has several appointments as Receiver for corporations. 

Frank’s public service includes numerous Board of Directors of non profit organizations including serving as past president of the Thomasville Kiwanis Club and a member of Leadership Tallahassee. Frank is active with Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren and many outdoor activities such as hunting, kayaking, skiing, and family timberland.

Experience

Mr. Jackson serves as the Managing Director of Lanigan & Associates, P. C. and President of Southeast Asset Advisors, Inc., a registered investment firm. He has sixteen years experience in business valuation, private equity analysis, manager searches, portfolio analysis and financial statement and investment analysis. His responsibilities include detailed analysis of public company financial statements including recasting financial statements for accounting deficiencies, forensic accounting and comparison to competitors for use in investment of over $1 billion of assets under management and investment consulting.

Brad serves on several boards and civic organizations such as Chairman of the Jefferson Scholarship Southeast Regional Selection Committee for the University of Virginia, Georgia State Botanical Gardens and Leadership Georgia. He is a lecturer in the fields of finance, investment management, business valuation and tax. He enjoys hunting, spending time with his family and serving the community.

 D. Mark Fletcher, CPA

Experience

Mr. Fletcher serves as a principal for Lanigan & Associates, P.C. and Chairman of L&A Forest Products Group. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the firm with experience in tax and audit departments, succession planning, real estate, manufacturing, SCorporations, Limited Liability Companies and Partnerships. His niches include timber taxation, mill operations, timber operations and real estate.

Mark is an active member in his community and church, serving as a Deacon and is a past and present member of several Board of Directors such as the Robert F. Munroe Day School board. He enjoys reading and studying both business related materials and selected novels and all outdoor activities.

Robert M. Milberg, CPA

Experience

Mr. Milberg has thirty years of experience in tax and auditing and leads Lanigan & Associates, P.C. in the accounting and auditing department, employee benefits, nonprofit organizations and tax planning for closely-held businesses and individuals. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Southeast Asset Advisors, Inc., a registered investment advisor firm. He is a lecturer in the fields of finance, management and tax.

Rob currently serves the community by participating on numerous Boards of Directors for non-profit organizations including Thomasville Cultural Center, Inc, Thomasville Cultural Center Endowment Fund and the Thomasville Humane Society Endowment Fund. He enjoys fly fishing, hunting and collecting antique automobiles.

Experience

Mr. Harrison joined Lanigan & Associates, P.C. in 1997. He has over 8 years of public accounting experience in both Audit and Taxation. He has led several niche development projects for the firm, including L&A Forest Products Group, Employee Benefit Plan audits and administration, and Personal Financial Planning.

Tom’s experience and credentials are a valuable resource to our clients. He is the engagement partner on several large audits, and a member of our peer review oversight team. His experience includes working with Colleges & Universities, Manufacturing, Medical Practices, Real Estate and Distributors. He is an active member of the community and his church. He also enjoys outdoor activities with his family.

John Keillor, CPA

John Keillor, CPA
Audit Partner

Experience

Mr. Keillor has 11 years experience in professional accounting and auditing. Mr. Keillor works with a variety of clients ranging from governmental to corporate entities. He has a specific interest and dedication in governmental and not-for-profit auditing and consulting. He possesses an excellent understanding of internal control structures, compliance with laws and federal guidelines, financial reporting, and cost allocation. In addition, he possesses experience in conducting detailed internal control reviews and SAS 70 audits.

Mr. Keillor is a lecturer on government accounting and auditing, fraud and other related topics and serves on the firm's audit committee.
